Hello, I am Francesca
Project manager. Parent. An expat based in Florence, Italy.
A few years back, I moved here with my family. What began as a temporary assignment gradually unfolded into a new chapter of life abroad.
How It Started
Relocating to Italy wasn't part of the long-range plan. Like many moves by expats, it began as a job opportunity and soon grew into something far bigger.
The initial months were demanding — new systems, new routines, new expectations. Everyday chores felt more complex than they needed to be.
The Adjustment Period
There was culture shock, uncertainty, and a lot of learning by doing. Yet gradually, routines settled in. We found places that fit us, met other families, and started building something that felt stable.
Why I Built VelTarNexilRom
Most information online was either corporate relocation guidance or surface tourism content. What was missing was an honest, everyday family point of view.
This site exists to bridge that gap — practical guidance drawn from real life in Italy.
